Former First Lady Melania Trump has entered the world of artificial intelligence with an audiobook version of her memoir, Melania, narrated entirely by an AI-generated replica of her own voice.

In a post on X on Thursday, Mrs. Trump heralded the project as “A NEW ERA IN PUBLISHING,” adding, “Let the future of publishing begin.” The audiobook, produced with the AI voice-cloning company ElevenLabs under her “direction and supervision,” is now available for $25 on her website, with foreign-language versions expected later this year.

The seven-hour recording opens with a digitally rendered Mrs. Trump declaring, “My story. My perspective. The truth.” The original coffee-table memoir, released in October 2024 ahead of the presidential election, drew attention for its personal reflections—including her support for abortion rights, which stood in contrast to her husband’s policies.

“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body?” she wrote, emphasizing individual liberty. The book also revisited controversies, such as her 2016 Republican National Convention speech, which bore striking similarities to one delivered by Michelle Obama in 2008. Mrs. Trump attributed the incident to staff oversight.

Since leaving the White House, Mrs. Trump has maintained a low public profile, though she recently joined former President Donald J. Trump for the signing of the “Take It Down Act,” a law targeting nonconsensual intimate imagery online. At the ceremony, she called AI and social media “digital candy” for younger generations while warning of their potential harms.

The former president, who initially claimed he hadn’t read the memoir due to being “so busy,” later praised it in an interview, joking, “I was a little nervous before I read it. You never know—maybe she said bad things.”

With this AI venture, Mrs. Trump positions herself at the forefront of a growing trend in publishing, where synthetic voices are increasingly used to replicate authors and public figures. Whether listeners embrace the technology—and her story—remains to be heard.
